What are they?

A rechargeable battery, storage battery, secondary cell, or accumulator is a type of electrical battery which can be charged, discharged into a load, and reused.

Why do they need to be sorted?

Accumulator contains a number of heavy metals and toxic chemicals and disposing of them by the same process as regular trash has raised concerns over soil contamination and water pollution.

How is it recycled?

Accumulators are basically recycled the same way as all other batteries. First, all the components are separated and then recycled according to the material of each element. Hazardous components are neutralized.
