What are they?
Cardboard is a generic term for a heavy-duty paper of various strengths, ranging from a simple arrangement of a single thick sheet of paper to complex configurations featuring multiple layers.
Why do they need to be sorted?
Cardboard can be recycled, however, it should be stored in a dry container, otherwise, when it gets wet it turns to the biodegradable waste.
How is it recycled?
Cardboard can be recycled industrially, or for home use. For example, cardboard may be composted or shredded for animal bedding. Cardboard is collected, sorted, shredded, filtered and then used to produce recycled cardboard.
